Four steps, start to finish
Every deck judged sheet by sheet, and a written quote with a per-sheet decking rate before any work.
Call with what you are seeing
Tell us the address and what is happening: a stain, a drip, shingles in the yard after hail, a roof you think is near its end.
The attic first
The underside of the deck tells most of the story before anyone climbs: dark sheet edges, daylight, rusted nail tips, a sag between rafters.
A written quote with a per-sheet decking…
The work, the layers coming off and a rate for each sheet of decking that turns out soft, in plain language.
Tear-off, the sheet count, then the…
Every sheet judged and the replaced ones photographed before the new underlayment goes down, then a walk around the finished job with you before the final payment.

What to do before a roofer arrives, and what to ask for on the quote
Most of it is done from the ground or the attic hatch, and all of it makes the quote easier to check.
Catch the water and photograph it
A bucket under the drip, belongings moved, and a few photographs of the stain before anything is touched.
Look up through the attic hatch
If you can do it safely, a flashlight on the underside of the deck shows dark sheet edges, daylight or a sag between rafters.
Note when it leaks
In every rain, or only in a hard storm. That one detail points at a worn part or at storm damage before anybody climbs a ladder.
Ask for a per-sheet decking rate
How many layers are coming off, what each replaced sheet costs, and that the replaced sheets are photographed.
Spring hail sets the roofing calendar here
Worth knowing before you start calling around, because the busiest weeks are the worst weeks to be choosing.
A local roofer puts North Texas hail season at March through June, and Tarrant County's record runs from the 1995 Mayfest Storm, with stones up to 4.5 inches, to the Mid-Cities hail that roofer reports in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 springs. When a cell crosses the city, the calls arrive together.
That is the case for having the attic and the deck looked at on a calm day. A worn pipe boot over a sheet that is still firm is cheap to fix before the season and expensive once a storm has soaked it, and a re-roof needs its City permit, which is easier to arrange ahead of a busy week.
- Active leaks covered the same day where wind and light allow
- Small repairs booked within the week in normal conditions
- Temporary cover quoted separately from the permanent repair
- Attic checks and re-roofs scheduled outside the hail rush
